Also I can say that you are not far off. This is basically why my family left in 91: we did not think we could survive there. Over 20 million Russians have left in the past 30 years. It's now mostly meatheads back there.

But not entirely. There is a democratic movement in Russia called Vesna slowly gathering steam. They rely on mobilization resistance to grow. The quickest way to reach stupid people is to remind them they are mortal.
